In early July, I bought 5ETH and saved them. When they break through $600, I will wait for them to sell, but the recent market makes me scared because I lost more than 10% in just one week! I am going to sell these ETH!
We are in the opposite side of the fench. When bitcoin went $600 I dump everything but I can't resist the temptation to go back and purchase them again at $300. So I'm holding right now because I believed that this Ethereum is one of the altcoins that have real usage and like Bitcoin, has the potential to go up in the next coming years. A bit frustrated though to see that price hits $300, but its a golden opportunity not to be missed.
I don't have the crystal ball, but I predict that if everything goes well with Bitcoin, the next coin that will follow its path is Ethereum. So its still a win-win situation for us, I might be sounding like a broken record, but we need more patience specially at this time.
there are a couple of ways you can look at the situation with ethereum and in none of them you would decide to hold it.
first is what i believe in which is ethereum has no real usages, it had a pretty good idea which was ruined because of bad decisions such as having fast blocks and unlimited supply and breaking the immutability of it, bugs in the protocol, centralization and a lot more. and that can eventually mean ETH will be replaced by a competing similar but better smart contract platform and its price will never go back up to what people dream of. which means holding it is pointless.
second is thinking it can be pumped big time again eventually since the centralized authority behind it is powerful and rich. but at the same time when you look at its market and the price you can see that the decline is already 80% and it is not even slowing down. so holding until now was a foolish idea because there should be a 500% pump for you to just get your money back without even making a profit. and that is simply impossible. so you should have already sold a long time ago when the warnings came out.
