Is it because of some problems on my Gmail email side or on the bitcointalk side?

- If you never got any emails for enabling the board notification, perhaps you should double check the email field on your "Account Related Settings" but if you've got some then didn't receive emails for other new topics, it's related to your behavior on this forum (you have to check that board and read some of the topics, after that you'll be getting new notifications for some):
