For all the people screaming about tree-huggers, hippies and low values:
The EAC forest campaign is not the the be-all- and-end-all of Earthcoin, it's not it's sole purpose. It is part of the promotion of the coin. We already have contributions towards the trees (thanks to those who did!!!
), jaguars, hungry people in Australia and Spanish greyhounds. Once the trees start getting planted, Earthcoin will receive valuable and hard to get publicity across the world in non-geek publications, it will bring in new users to crypto, it will provide a talking point (well, it already has!).
I'm not sure why some here seem to think that this coin should have made them rich within three-weeks without any effort on their part, I can't tell you why they feel it is owed to them except to say their attitudes display a remarkable ignorance of business, promotion and opportunity - they would appear to be gamblers rather than investors. I recommend that they frequent forums more suited to their attitudes, you know, those ones that yell "To the moon!" repeatedly, as though this incantation will make gold rain from the sky.
Earthcoin is already reaching out to to a new demographic and generating publicity that is not just about volatility and people losing millions of BTC on their hard drives. It is generating good, worthwhile and not-at-all-scary coverage. This will separate it from the hundreds of dead-end, p&d coins out there that will just disappear after making the devs a bit of cash. Many of these other coins would be considered a fraud in a regulated market.
In the coming weeks we will be planting our first trees. Websites, newspapers, radio and maybe TV will follow it up and EAC will begin to have significance beyond these rather incestuous, geeky and specialist forums.
EAC will begin to have genuine real-world value.

while everyone wants to go to the moon at least with earthcoin we keep our feet on the ground
Noone said we expect to be millionaires. But everyday the coin price goes down further. We are almost below 200 now. Without some serious life support from cryptsy in the very near future, this coin is going to die. Your goals should be to get cryptsy to notice it, maybe by bribing big vern with some eac. Otherwise you are not going to be able to save noah's ark of animals, nor feed all the starving people of the earth, nor plug the ozone hole, nor plant new rains forests in the australian outback.
YOU NEED a price increase to do all that and you need miners who want to mine this thing, that will take an increase in this coins price. Sorry, I realize the core group of people around eac do not care about profit or price, but if that is true why did you not take a more direct route to save the earth and just raise usd to do it? Why use a crypto to do it, the elephants are hungry now, not in 3 years when this coin takes off, just go raise usd and feed the starving animals already!
You need to make your mind up, is it dying or going to take-off?
Your arguments are contradictory, you sound desperate to dump, just as BV would were someone to be daft enough to bribe him (and he be stupid enough to take it).
One of the real goals is to make it so that BV cannot ignore the coin, so that he has no choice but to list EAC.
One more point, I know this is ancient history, but no coin has been added to Cryptsy since 29th December and EAC was launched only a few days before Christmas. Taking into account festive celebrations, the new year and the fact that BV is probably driving his new Ferrari, are you genuinely surprised EAC is not on Cryptsy yet?
