That sounds like a great idea. Perhaps donations can go directly to the charity, with a receipt posted on their site to include amount and the donors BBP address as a note. That way, sanctuaries could vote to include that address in the monthly payout from the tithe fund, just as they do for the daily superblock payout for Distributed Computing research.
