I think the coin should look more digital and bold to greater emphasis the name particle.

Using that sort of effect for the outside of the coin, someone with good photoshop skills could create a coin using particle-style effects that would look amazing.

The "P" Would also have this particle effect, perhaps in a different colour to stand out. If you can picture that, then that's how the coin would look awesome.

I actually like this idea a lot. I don't really see the need to make it look like a physical coin. Perhaps it does need to for the more mainstream audience. However I still think the particle effect would be cool if done right.

Agree too. Not really like the "coin" form. Digital particle type effect...yeah, cool! How to make. Maybe can find something to work from like:

I like the first one. It looks so much better than the current logo. Nice clean design. Professional. Would work very well on the right coin design. If someone could make the rim of the coin out of those same shapes, with a black coin background, it would look awesome. So it has a coin-like shape, but it's really unique looking and stylish.

Do you visit DeviantArt? I bet you could commission someone to do it. Or host a competition on the forum for a prize of Particle using that first image. Best design wins.
