Exchanging BTC for an ICO investment might be very risky. I would have gone for ETH and Bitcoin cash whereas keeping some of the BTC if I were you. There is an ICO which I really have knowledge about and it might be very promising. Gemstra.
Exchanging coins just so another person could get coins from an ico is not a good idea. Money is a huge issue there.
