yes that is not the same chase. I think gambling gives us hope for every time and that is the reason it compel us to play gambling again and again. But if you will watch a movie again and again it will surely make bore.
Thats why gambling can make a person addicted to it. But talking about movies there are some movies which are classic and have a replay value while others are one-time-disposable ones.
Whoever thinks gambling even gives them hope like lauder_larger stated is only living in a huge fantasy. Every gambler gives them-selves hope based on luck with an outcome that is usually negative anyway. It is more like 1 person out of 99 winning while the others losing and the 100 of you trying to fight for that winning spot.
At the end while the 99s are losing, the casino owners are busy having a swell time making shit load of profit, while the others are wallowing in self-pity and little out of the 99 losers goes to the 1 winner. Seriously, where is the hope in this and where is the fun as well. If I want to have fun, I would rather watch movies or play video games.
