Two horror movies I watched recently that were really great were Hereditary and A Quiet Place. Hereditary was far superior though and genuinely had a few great thrills in it and not just cheap jump scares. I recommend it for even those who don't like horrors, especially as it's not just another dime a dozen, run of the mill fright fest.

Try to watch the Ghost Stories movie. The film tells the story of a professor and investigator of things that smelled of paranormal who had the dedication to deny stories of supernatural smells.
