No wallet at all. You can't say that MEW is a real wallet, can you? I tried once to install a desktop wallet for ETH and gave up.
best blockchain ? - yes
You can't compare it with Bitcoin's blockchain, not even close. (BTC hashrate = 1.8 ExaHash vs. ETH hashrate = 3 TeraHash, data from February 2018[1])
fast then BTC? - yes
I'll give you that. But one of the obvious reasons is block time. BTC block time = 10 minutes. ETH block time = 15 seconds.

I don't know how can 15 seconds blocktime can be sustainable. They are probably many simultaneous involuntary forka all the time. Doesn't it generate some kind of problem for the miners?
As eth have a so crazy blocktime maybe it's better to move to pos.i once saw Antonopoulos saying that maybe the world cannot have 2 big proof of work blockchains.
I really never heard of a good desktopwallet for ethereum.
But metamask and mobile wallets work very well
I use coinomi and it's very good.
My ledger nano works well with eth but I need mew to use tokens.. I don't like mew.. feel unsafe .
