At what stage is there this project now? It's not clear from official site and first post of topic.

facts:
nem token Petro hasn't been released or activated yet.
¿the reason? the venezuelan government hasn't told anything.
President Maduro recently said that there will be good news about Petro soon.
that's the only fact we have so far.
everything else is speculation or bullshit.
what i think:
the venezuelan government thought it would be something easy.
that they will just release a token using ethereum or nem technology and done.
but they changed plans with the new economic team.
for example attaching the venezuelan economy and currency to the Petro.
this means that there are lot of things to do technologically, legally and formally inside the country.
and that stopped the Petro release, they need more time.

if they are doing business with petros, i think they are doing it other way.
some people are saying that they are working on their own blockchain and technology.
venezuelan economy can't depend on a blockchain that the venezuelan government can't control.
NEM could be shut down anytime by the U.S. world dictatorship if they receive enough money $$$.
or they could sabotage Petro.
