That's a first in football I believe?
A Serie C club (Rimini), Italian 3rd league, will have 25% of its shares sold in the form of a cryptocurrency transaction, following partnership with Quantocoin. Never heard about this Quantacoin before but a look on their website
https://quantocoin.io and it looks quite promising.
Not the first actually. There are already facts about selling tickets (for crypto) to the football matches with help of blockchain and some other examples around football especially.
It looks mostly not like something good for crypto community but rather for a 3rd league football team as it will bring more attention to them because of crypto hype.
I also remember quite recent news about UEFA making experiments ticket distributions on blockchain to make sure that tickets are not faked. And yet in this case I really don't understand in which coin the payment was issued. Quanto is in its ICO stage, so none of their tokens could be involved. Both links seems to use the term 'cryptocurrency' without explaining which one was it.
As for quantocoin, I guess it's cool that they are planning to be a totally legit crypto bank. It is also sweet that their token is built on Waves, not erc-20. But who knows if they actually manage to become accepted by people from other spheres (whether the payments in shops will be possible with their token, for instance). So far this project is in its infantry, and all we can do is keep track.
