Yesterday my hard drive died, it had a wallet in 30K DGB, I did not make a backup like a fool, if in the future DGB will have a price of 10 bucks, I will cry.
I know it's of no consolation to you but I have two backups of all my wallets, both on external devices just in case a power surge fries everything on my PC, and/or one of my backups fails.
A couple of recovery options you could try, if it's the hard drive controller thats fried then get an identical working hard drive and swap controllers, if it's a platter fault then it's probably a professional recovery service you'll be looking for - or just hold onto the hard drive until it's worth getting a professional to recover the data, when DGB is at $10.
