If this was true, we should have kept relative market cap position. However, in January, ETN was number 44 on the list and today it is 118th (source: coinmarketcap).
To put that into perspective, Ethereum Classic was 18th in January (at a price of 0.00161587 BTC) and today it is 15th (the ETC price has increased to 0.00182223 BTC).
