There is a minimum accrual before it gets paid out on the blockchain (not sure what that number might be). I have one of the earliest coins and it did get a blockchain payout once the minimum was reached in addition to ongoing accrual.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with not wanting to buy these coins, or anything else, but I don't see the need for hostility about it.

Yes it is possible they are bad investments. It is also possible some aspect (the coin itself for collectable purposes, the silver, the seat, and/or the mining/donation accruals) or the combination of them makes it a good investment, or that someone might not care and see it as a good community builder. Who knows, really. Participate if you like or not if you don't.
