This is the problem of the word "hodl." When the market falls common sense, sell your alts immediately. Don't be so stupid that you'll hodl that thing even though it is purely a shit coin.
You have a point if you're not sure that the coin you've got will not recover sell it right away. Because holding a coin is like gambling situation its a 50-50 chance that you earn if it will recover but there's also chance it getting worse.
