I very much doubt that litecoin Or any other altcoin will be able to replace Bitcoin in the near future. Perhaps in a few years the situation will change, but so far the cryptocurrency market is dominated by Bitcoin.
Bitcoin will remain the most expensive currency anyway, it's getting harder and harder to extract, and there are fewer and fewer stocks. This is partly why we are observing a steady growth of the rate over the past few years.
