I believe you definitely should invest in crypto, but I don't believe anyone can tell you for sure which altcoin could be another BTC because of the crypto market nature: it's too volatile and unpredictable, so just get some BTC, hodl, and relax 
Yes you should invest in cryptocurrency. That little extra money could be mor. Saving and especially spending wont bring any profit for you. You just have to take a little risk for you to be able to get some earnings that would help you in your finances.
