As long as there is interest from people in the real world to develop and use decentralized applications, the Ethereum platform will survive for quite some time. I've seen many ICOs, and decentralized applications brought by prominent startups and companies to the Ethereum blockchain. This is good, because it helps the cryptocurrency gain widespread mass adoption by average people.
