I think w te fact that it moved to the newest token technology post-mine, we can expect that it'll stay ahead of/ at the curve - just whether people can recognise that or not I think.
ERC-20 is not the newest token technology, but it is a step forward from the POW/POS protocol, which could arguable be considered superseded.
