We are different people so we have different opinions but for me, that idea is not necessary. We can believe what other's tells us but no one can predict what truly be the value of Bitcoin because part of it's characteristic is being volatile, Though your friend has a will to do so. But, ideally for me selling your own car is not necessary.
I will be really happy for him if it will work. Maybe not for 500 000 but at least for something. I want to believe that coin will not crash and he and lots of others that behave like he does will not suffer much because of their naivety.
