Another warning to everyone currently begging for merit - maybe you should consider your own stupidity before drawing attention to yourself.

There seem to be an abundance of posts just like this in meta today, and I think the vast majority who write them are being disingenuous. The members without merits who've written things like the above are obviously writing what they think will earn them merits. I am hoping people see through the words, which are usually not chosen or assembled correctly anyway.
What I'm wondering is if any of these new merit sources will help the local sections at all. That would be a huge benefit, since non english speakers wouldn't have to try to write trash in english.
