I'm not bothered that I've been demoted, and I hope I'll make my way to some rank someday.
What bothers me that some of the higher ranked members like you who got into the game early when there was no restrictions and now selling their accounts for money.( I'm not saying you're selling though.)
I hope they'll implement something to stop this too.
Why are you bothered about this? How does this make you more or less of a spammer? Start worrying about making real useful posts instead of disguised shitposts and not about other people trying to bypass the merit limitations.
I may have gotten to the game early, but thats because I joined this forum cuz of Bitcoin and not to join bounties and make money. Actually, Ive already received more than 250 merits since the system was introduced, which doesnt make me better than anyone, but someone who actually has a brain and tries to do something instead of complaining all day while writing a lot of bs.
Actually, you are correct TryNinja in regards to the ability to make at least decent posts is not as difficult as some of no merit folks (like no coiners, no?) are making out the system to be "so difficult." There are ways to engage in threads, and to post on substantive topics, and bitcoin happens to be my favorite topic, too (even though from time to time, recently, I have come out to meta, and even though from time to time, I might meander into looking at some alt coin thread that might have some possible connection to bitcoin - or perhaps some other possible redeeming substantive value).
Another point is that sometimes any of us might mistakenly give out merits to members who really don't deserve such merit because we get tricked into thinking that they have made a substantive contribution, including just giving them the benefit of the doubt. So sometimes, it does pay off to browse through their prior post history which could even shed light that the current post does not deserve merit because it does not add as much value as first impression might have caused such erroneous merit conclusion. Certainly, there are going to be some scammers and spammers that still end up receiving merits, and I don't really find any problem with that as long as spamming and scamming in this forum are disincentivized overall (which seems to be happening with some of the new innovations a) the implementation of the merit system and b) the most recent requirement that newbies need at least one merit to rank up to Jr. Member).

So I can't voice my concern! Is that what you're trying to tell me? you're more concerned about how disguised shit post mine are but not a bit about the people selling accounts and scamming people.
You seem to be attempting to place words into the mouth of TryNinja, and also creating irrelevant nonsensical strawman arguments. There is no all or nothing playing going on in the forum, and theymos and other forum mods and administrators likely realize that there are gradients in any problems, and some problems are more important to address than others.
Seems to me that there are a lot of forum members and even members of the public (who are not forum members) who can and have benefitted stupendously from the substantive exchanges in bitcoin information through this forum, and the ability to glean valuable information from forum threads is likely enhanced by attempting various efforts to weed out the lower hanging fruit which is the newer troll, shill, scammer, spammer accounts, and if you are not a troll, shill, scammer or spammer, then you are likely to still rank up (even if it might take longer than it would have taken under prior forum rules).
