yeah I find this true , at least for the Arabic section since it's the only local board that I visit
but also to be fair there are way less constructive topics and comments there comparing it with the English ones , not sure about other local borads but this is the case with the Arabic section
I'm still trying to make people post better there by rewarding the good topics , maybe we will start seeing better posts in local if members started to get rewarded there
It feels like merits are more common on English boards compared to local ones, so I think this change is going to have a bigger effect on local forums. Are there any statistics on what percentage of merits are given on local boards?
User Piggy has made a very good stats on this one https://albertoit.github.io/Visualization/MeritTreemap/index.html

As you can see, there are more merits sent on local boards (as a whole) than any other board ("Economy", "Other", Altcoin, etc). So I think it's the opposite, there are more merits send in local boards. But again, it depends on where your local is. Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, German are the top 4. Each board receives thousands of merit so far. There is also another local board whose total merit is still under 1K, for example, Arabian, Dutch, and Indian.

There should be more merit source to solve this problem. 120 people are definitely not enough to cover the thousands of posts made every day in this forum.
