First, a friendly advice anybody contacting you to be able to sale merits - Dont fall for such scams. The current dearth in merit will cause an internal merit marketplace (pseudo) to emerge to scam newbies. Moreover since newbies will be in general more gullible than others. Also report such people here in Meta so some action can be taken.

Second, it is not tough to earn merits. If the newbies would actually stop posting in Meta whining about merit in every thread and post meaningful content in the other sections of the forum they may get some merits. After all we now have more merit sources as well.
