I don't know what Bitcointalk want to get out of it, but I think more and more people are leaving bitcointalk due to merit system and being not fair to lots of people who got banned and never got their account recovered.
Bitcointalk is not a business, never was. If they would generate serious income, they would be able to restructure the site in a way that people had a reason to stick around.
The merit system is really fucked up for Sr and Hero members. But it helped to get rid of higher multi-accounts
Yeah, right, not business. So why you can buy status on bitcointalk for btc? You think if your ip is blocked they made btc payment out of goodwill? Mods selling signature space and so on? everything is business and they do generate income.
