Not at all. Coins with good fundamentals will still grow a lot. On the long timescale somewhere between x10 and x100. Although x1000 is only possible with currently undervalued small cap coins and quite some research and luck.  This is not financial advice, but my favourite among the small cap coins is Spectrecoin.
