Two things I've learned: 

A: If you buy something, USE ESCROW.  It's pretty much the only hope you have of getting your money back from a Bitcoin purchase.

B:  If someone offers you a Bitcoin investment plan that sounds just too good to be true, be wary.  Ask yourself, "Is it really possible to make 100% return on investment in 7 days?"  Do some research before investing.
