Of course not, if they believe in the technology they should invest in NXT and help make NXT bigger and better.
AS for that FrictionTroll he doesn't even deserve to use NXT. That guy has been shitting on NXT and told me it was closed source, one I told him it wasn't he went on and made that thread. He's 100% a troll.

I am all for open sourcing after we complete NXT and it lives on by itself, but there is absolutely no moral obligation for you to help anyone out with stealing all the hard work we are doing to make themselves rich. This is worse than hardcore capitalism.
