Ripple exceeded the market cap of Ethereum for the second time in a span of one week. Marked the calendar 09/26. Ripple once again become the second largest crypto currency by Market Cap. Will it take the spot permanently as we close the year?
Ripple is suitable for speculation, so I would not trust much the price shown; it may disappoint you "tomorrow".
Ripple is nowadays on a great trend and Ethereum is not. So yes, Ripple can overtake Ethereum. The fact Ethereum is doing bad is not a joy, many have big bucks invested into that. Ripple can get you some easy money, but again, the risk is very big.
I am still expecting better coins get higher in ranks. The current top 10 is imho a bad joke.
And back to your question: Bcash is pumped/hyped a lot too, it may be a big rival for Ripple and it could easily snatch place #2. (Although both options for place #2 are a shame).
