I don't need to be a grand pianist to understand how a piano works or appreciate music. I don't need to put my tongue in a ban saw to understand machinery or experience pain.

I certainly don't need to take drugs to understand those drugs are making your brain go haywire and cause hallucinations, they certainly did not open a portal to another dimension.
