Because of that I suggest that you don't take a deal on PM's. I mean make it public and the borrower must post his proposal here at your thread. Nothing wrong after all and will not violate the privacy because it's good that no transparency will be involved.
Also with the public post, the community can see if something wrong with the proposal or the borrower itself that might help you decide if you are going to lend them or not.
