If you're having trouble getting connections you may want to open port 55789 for TCP connections within your router and/or firewall. If you are not sure on how to go about port forwarding you can visit http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Once you have the port open your client should begin finding plenty of new connections (might need to restart though).

Doing this will also help the network by allowing other users to connect and sync the blockchain

It's the last 4 blocks... 3 connections only, and those 4 blocks refuse to sync.
