All of us wants to have merit, and in order to do that, we need to have a post that makes sense. If you think about it, one person could be posting just one-liner, two-liners, or 75 words or something but has value due to its content compared to 300 words or more that are copy pasted and didn't even bother to add their comments or queries. Who would you pick? The one with content or just tl;dr post that no one is going to bother to read, or just spam their way to post counts?  If I was accepted to become a merit source, I would distribute it towards who really adds value to the topic.
