btc is like a mother for all altcoin, but not all altcoin price depend in btc price, not like altcoin who still controling by company, btc pure dezentralized, so the price pure from who realy need for transaction.
in my opinion, it would be better if the cryptocurrency depended on the price of etherium. Perhaps in this case there would be a different situation today in the cryptocurrency market.
chances are that lately many altcoins are using ethereum intelligent contract platform technology following the price of ethereum, this can be seen when bitcoin prices soared quite high after the decline, but ethereum prices and some other coins did not follow but experienced a significant decline.
