Cannot be generally said that hodling will get you nowhere. Ask those who hodl btc for a few years if this hodling got them nowhere Smart trading decisions can earn you more, of course. But not everyone is a good trader, therefore hodling brings less risk and stress. Not to mention that trading is quite time consuming. And I would not be too much worried that everyone would just hodl and there would be no trading.
