The house edge used to be 0.5% as far as I can remember so giving people 50% of the house edge in a prize pool for one currency is literally like saying (we're temporarily going to how things used to be for this coin and making it into a competition to get more people betting with that currency). I think the site started by offering a zero percent house edge too but I might be wrong there...
I'm pretty sure the house has always had a 1% house edge, and I'm almost certain there was never a 0% house edge.
