The markets are made by people and people have a lot of mistaken ideas about the market, but when everyone has the very same ideas then the market moves around those ideas despite being wrong, for example we know that the price of bitcoin was very high at the end of the last year and now we have a lower price which is very surprising because the technology behind bitcoin is still the same and yet we had two very different prices and this happens because people are afraid that another crash is going to come so they are not willing to invest in bitcoin at the moment.
