If you're comfortable being mostly silent, what's the big deal about your rank anyway? It's not like you have to even be a Jr. Member to read stuff here.

1 merit is nothing once you have a decent knowledge about the blockchain technology.
I can tell you that that's not even required to earn merit here, depending on which section you're posting in. What
is necessary is to write things that interest other members and to write those things well. I'm sure people could be earning merits in the local boards, but a lot of them are just too lazy to write anything more than 1-line garbage.
