Cryptocurrencies can still hit a new peak in the future because of how volatile it is and the market is currently small when compared to the others that are in the trillions. For Bitcoin you already answered your own question. The price always improve every year that's why i'm also confident that Bitcoin can reach $20k again it could be next year or the next halving who knows. Only a hater would say it won't go $20k.
