You're going to need to do a hard fork if you want to make this coin usable again. Block times are averaging 30 minutes each, and it's going to take 40+ days at the current hash rate to make it to the retarget. You need to make the difficulty retarget much more quickly (e.g. with a 36-block rolling average). Also, you should reduce the confirmation time of newly mined blocks.
The default settings from the Litecoin code are really terrible for launching a new altcoin (2016-block retarget and minimum starting difficulty) . You end up with a huge supply of coins from the launch period (instamining) which deflates the value of the coins. Then when the difficulty finally catches up with the hash rate, the hashers leave because it is not profitable. And finally you get stuck at a high difficulty with long block times and a very long time until retarget.
We are considering all our options. Right now we are in difficulty hell but the settings we chose are what we think is best for the long term - we are talking years not days. Once things "level out" mining difficulty will become more stable.
However we completely understand the prospect that with the difficulty so high we may have a hard time getting through the blocks to the next change.
We are "launching" in china very soon so hopefully that will attract some hashes. Getting on an exchange with a favorable price may also attract miners. So we are hopefull things will turn around soon. But if they don't, we will do whatever we have to do to "fix the problem".
Right now PXL is still very cheap and for just a few bucks someone could advertise on our site by mining or purchasing PXL. You can't get that kind of advertising at such a low rate anywhere online, or anywhere for that matter.
