I'm afraid it cannot be stop but the best reason to hold this token is the promising concept of this project and its with its active development, token holders would think twice before dumping it.
Well, vesting period could prevent the dumping, but I doubt investors would go for it. Otherwise you're right, steady development is the most natural way.
I think there's not a way of avoiding a dump apart from improving the product and publishing news about the project.
