If you can buy Dash masternode - go for it.

New coins with mastenodes that are around 1000$ are only useful for coin developers (coin owners) - this way they sell a lot of coins to people who want to have a master node. They make money and you have a useless masternode in the end - so for me masternode is just another way of pumping people to buy as much coins as possible.

I have a friend who has a few SnowGem masternodes - and constantly has to do repair them (uses VPS services). Also the price is dropping. So it looks like a waist of time and money in the end.
