Coinbase is not a wallet. But it can provide a storage for keeping funds. And guys are right, it's not advisable to store coins on the exchange. There are crypto wallets for such purposes which are more secure. You can keep just a little portion on the exchange which has a cold storage like CEX (https://cex.io/).
