Here's a quote from the Swarm telegram group that encapsulates some of what the team is focused on at the moment.

1. MAP (Market Access Protocol)  is an elegant data oracle and distributed ledger that is used to qualify investors and allow for the regulatory compliant issuance and trading of security tokens. Only a non-profit like Swarm can approach an effort like MAP from the perspective of opening up access to investing for all, while keeping fees in the network.

2. Swarm Masternodes support the decentralized infrastructure on top of which we will see the tokenization of eveything. Masternode operators stake SWM on the ethereum blockchain but process transactions on the Swarm blockchain, earning block rewards and rewards from governing and investing 10M SWM tokens via the Market Development Fund. They are curently in Alpha phase and we are extremely close to moving to Test and Mainnet.
