I've never heard anything like this before. I think it would not be a very logical system. Send photos or give idendity informatiın can be more practical and safer. I dont think so too many people use video for kyc 
In fact, I have not met this either, and it seems to me that this is already a bust in verification issues. If you wanted to see from the point of view of security, then if there is a choice between providing passport data and a video call, then it is better to choose a video call.
