There is no amount of coins required for masternode since there is no masternode feature in the coin. It is a pure PoW, just like bitcoin does with its PoW system.
I paid attention to it too, probably this user just very badly found information on the project and incorrectly thought of it, in particular was mistaken concerning existence of a masternode.
