About the thread, I think the best way to approach to an interesting newbie is by quoting his/her thread. To send a PM can be quite invasive for a first contact, from my opinion. Just comment his thread and congrats the guy and at the same time invite him to join FTt!!

And yep, probably from now on, maybe it is better if you avoid meriting before coffee.
