No, this kind of post are not made for merit. They made for signature spam.
Agreed, and if they
were starting the same threads and posting in them in order to earn merit, they're failing miserably.
Bounty spammers learn how to write a few basic things about bitcoin--usually how it's increasing day by day; it has a bright future; and that it's improved their life ever since they "joined bitcoin". So what you'll see is that somebody will start a thread with a generic title like "how bitcoin has helped you" or something similar, and most of the posts there will basically be the same. This is mostly the case in sections like Bitcoin Discussion where there are so many shitposts that only a small fraction of them ever get looked at and deleted by mods.
My suggestion would be to stay far, far away from the spam sections. Unfortunately Bitcoin Discussion is one of the worst on a forum where you'd think it would be one of the best. I tend to favor the Economics section, but even there a lot of the replies are generic, zero-value shitposts.
You have a different levels of spam.
Nice. And it's sad that probably 90% of posts in certain sections are made by people who fit one of those categories. It's a damn shame, especially when you're trying to find posts to merit. And if I finally do find a post that looks like it has some thought put into it? I have to freakin' check it to make sure it isn't plagiarism. Makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.
