That actually is a very interesting question.
There is one group that wants a clone of Nxt.
Then there is another group that wants something better.
We can do the clone of Nxt right now... it is just a configuration of the genesis block.
But we can also do something better.
Decisions, decisions, decisions!!
if you can really do something better and you can provide some reasonable ETA (like 3-4 months max) then go for "something better".
but won't be easy to top the work of the current Nxt team and the smart wallet they'll be coming out soon, with aliases etc.
but if you can pull it off "something better" then it only adds value to NEX. I like the latest answer you given to someone on the specifics of how u'd go about it.
The advantage of a straight clone is that it is compatible with all the changes of NXT.
