No , it can not.

There is literally not enough coins for a global currency.
(Not even with the ridiculous 8 decimal point division to smaller increments.)

If it survives the ever increasing electricity costs, then it's price will continue to grow and no one will be able to afford it but the ultra rich,
therefore at best it will have a limited elite market only.

Bitcoin Scarcity insures it is only for the rich, and therefore will never be universally used.
